GTR's new Aluminum Bolt Shroud; Silver. The Bolt Shroud is made with 7075-T6. Made in house on our Swiss CNC's. We have bolts from the 1940's to present and were able to adjust the thread, bushing collar and height of the shroud flats to give the best fit in the industry. On average, we are.010 larger in the areas to take out the sloppy fit. We have a better fit of the cocking piece and firing pin to the shroud to prevent binding in the cocked position. Then we have them NORGUARD Nickel Plated to give the best-finished aluminum shroud in the industry. The threads and internals are protected to leave the smooth Nickel Plate and the exterior is bead blasted for the matte stainless finish in the plating process to match the matte stainless steel Remington actions.
FITS; 700 Long and Short, 721, 722, 40X
Our Bolt shrouds do not fit PTG bolts, if you purchase one of our shrouds for their bolts it has to be fitted. Greg use to do this for free, but no longer does. At this time he has no manual lathes in the shop. If you have a good gunsmith or machinist he may be able to do that for you. If your gunsmith needs advice on how to do it, he can call us for advice. But he is responsible for the results.

How to choose a Firing Pin Assembly
You really need to know only three things.
1.Fluted or Lite
2.Color Bolt Shroud: Satin Black, Matte Black, or Matte Silver
3.Length: Long, Short or Model 7
They are all of equal quality and performance:
The difference between the Lite and Fluted:
Lite: Has a faster lock time, for Tactical, PRS, NRL and Palma style competition shooters and if you take moving or running shots say at coyotes, you may want to think about a lite. The only time we suggest not buying one is if you hunt in extreme cold. Our lite pin has an aluminum shaft, and a hardened steel tip that makes it lighter in the rifle, creating a faster lock time.
Fluted: Our fluted pin performs extremely well. It is made of one complete piece of hardened steel with flutes in the shaft to lighten the pin and help with lock time.
And lastly you want to choose your Color and Length.
I hope this helps. It can seem like we have so many choices on our website, but it really comes down to three things.
